Here are some of the finished Pop Art Portraits. Next 6 weeks, we are going to work a little smaller and paint pets in the style of Slade Roberts. I am hoping that working a bit smaller will allow us more time to spend working with watercolors.
We used pixlr.com to posterize the images. Then they used the grid method to draw all of the different value areas and then learned about tints and shades to paint.
I just love the way the POP Art portraits turned out! How do you tell students to capture the changes in tone so well?
